Many people make parallels to King David's life. He was a prophet, priest, and king. We are to be like him in all of these areas. David was a worshiper of God, before, and during his reign. The Lord taught him the principles of worship so he would be able to remain in the position the Lord wanted to give him. David was even given revelation by the Holy Spirit of the Messiah in the Psalms. Surely he had revelation from God to rule the kingdom, create instruments of worship, win battles, and live victoriously by faith. The same is ours today even more because through Jesus, the Holy Spirit dwells in us!
